Microsoft Employees Disrupt Wii U Best Buy EventsRemember how Nintendo was showcasing some of their E3 games at participating Best Buy stores around the country? Well, apparently Microsoft employees have been hired to go to these events and preach about the Xbox One and make comments like "why would you buy a outdated Wii U when the Xbox One is right around the corner?"
However, the employees aren't getting what they hoped for. Most customers just start bashing the Xbox One in response. Seriously, Microsoft, the people attending these Best Buy Wii U events are people who are intimately familiar with the crap you pulled at E3. They ain't takin' your shit.
At first I thought this might just be a case of one really loyal Microsoft employee taking matters into his own hands (especially since the original source was /v/), but reports have come in from numerous Best Buy's around the country that indicate many Microsoft employees have ambushed the demo lines trying to persuade people to switch to the Xbox One.

There are two ways to write a novel. Plotting (you make an outline, a plan, a roadmap if you will, and then you sit down and write it) and pantsing (you write "by the seat of your pants, throwing caution to the wind). So when I get asked if I'm a plotter or a pantser, I'm all like er, uh, hold on, let me? Pantser? I think? But I kind of, um, do planny things?
And it gets kind of awkward because in these inarticulate moments I have managed to confuse everyone including myself. And probably spilled a drink.
In recent discussions, however, I've had a bit of a revelation, silly as it is. I've realized that I -- like many writers -- am a plotter/pantser hybrid. And perhaps what I'm doing is something we could call Pantsing Responsibly. And, maybe, just maybe, I could share some of my responsible pantsing tips with other writers. The Used Game ParadigmOver the course of this past generation I've been watching the video game market react to the way it's been forced to deal with increasing changes. I've come out against used game sales and even written a journal about boycotting GameStop because (like most people at the time) I believed they were the root cause of all the problems the video game industry has. But that's something I don't believe now as intently as i did then. From where I sit, piracy and used games sales are a problem, but not in the way game companies want us to believe that they are.
Used games are a good thing for consumers. We get to try games out, and if we don't like what we see or finish it early, we trade it in and try another title instead. It's a very good system for us since video game rentals are much harder to come by. Most video rental stores in America have gone extinct and outside specific Red Box Kiosks there aren't a lot of places for consumers to rent video games. The exception, of course, being thr

SPIKE updatesJust thought I'd share with you guys some updates on the progress of finishing my "SPIKE" novel.

I've got two news for you guys today though: one bad news and one good news. Let's start with the bad news.

Whiskers is very sick

I'm feeling sad because my cat Whiskers has been sick for a few weeks now and things just seem to be getting worse.

First his feces were not normal because there was blood so we had to take him to the vet and they gave him some medication. It seemed to work for a few days but then we noticed he was not using the litter box at all for a long time and that can be very fatal if an animal will not go to the bathroom. So we went again and they gave us some drops but it is not helping either because last night he peed in the sink. The doctor told us that he thinks Whiskers may have something called feline urologic syndrome. It is a urinary tract disorder that produces bladder stones that causes urinary blockage.

But the drops where making him vomit so we had to take him in again this morning and they found something. When the doctor was feeling around him he came across between his shoulder blades and found a lump. He told us it may be a tumor because cats usually get those things in that area. He said this lump he found has nothing to do with his going to the bathroom problems but we need to keep an eye on it and if it seems to not go away or get bigger it will need to be removed. But I remember he was given a shot in that spot and the doctor said that can be why the lump may be there too but we still need to be wary of it.

Now we have to give him another medication, his third one this time, and I just hope he will be okay. I hope that lump is not a tumor but I am scared what is happening to him. I would be completely devastated if something were to happen to him but I just hope he will be okay.

Aww, I hope Whiskers gets better! My cat, Mittens, has a respiratory infection, slight case of worms (She is better, from worms!), and she is also not on her best with her eye discharge.

But now she is growing stronger and growing better each day!

I hope he gets better soon. It's so depressing when a pet is sick. When my dog was bitten by a snake(she lived, luckily) she took a few days to recover on medication, and I didn't leave her side. I stayed home from school to be with her for 4 days. She's better now, but I'll never forget the grief i felt.
